The Paul M. Saab Memorial Kiwanis Scholarship for 2015 was awarded to Miss Jillian D. O’Connell, a recent graduate of Hedgesville High School, by the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown. Jillian is the daughter of Tim and Janet O’Connell of Martinsburg and plans to attend Shepherd University to study elementary education, working toward a career as a teacher or school media specialist. She was very active in Key Club, 4-H, the Berkeley County Youth Fair, the HHS Honor Society, and the Berkeley County Schools Scholarship Pageant while in high school.

The Paul M. Saab Memorial Kiwanis Scholarship was established in 2001 to honor Paul Saab, a longtime professor of biology at Shepherd and a charter member of the Kiwanis Club of Shepherdstown.
