Interns spend three months in Arts Management Program
The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts selected Shepardstown, West Virginia native and Goucher College grad, Lindsey Long, for its prestigious, nationally recognized internship program. From June 1 August 7, 2015, she will be the intern with the Corporate and Foundation Relations team in the Development department.
Long, daughter of Bradley and Leslie Long, is from Sheperdstown. She recently graduated from Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland with a degree in Theater.
Each year, the Corporate and Foundation Relations team raises funds from corporations, foundations and government organizations in support of the artistic and educational programming of the Kennedy Center, National Symphony Orchestra and Washington National Opera. This includes teaching, learning, partnership programs, career development programs, performances and events for young people and families, the Kennedy Center’s dance, ballet, jazz, and theater seasons, the National Symphony Orchestra’s classical and pops series, the Washington National Opera’s productions and the corporate fund.
As the Corporate and Foundation Relations intern, Long, creates informational briefings and drafts letters for the Development department. She also has the opportunity to attend program-specific meetings and help with administrative work and research around the office.
Following her Kennedy Center internship, Long will head to Hartford Stage as a Development Apprentice for their 2015-2016 season.
