August happenings at Jala Yoga
Jala Yoga is offering several workshops at its Winchester studio during the month of August, each of which will enrich one’s yoga practice. From preparing to do yoga off the ground to fine-tuning some of the basics of vinyasa yoga to immersing in meditation, there is something for everyone. “Core Four: Flight Prep” is a series of workshops with Certified Aerial Yoga Instructor Jaime Haines, In three workshops, on Friday Aug. 7 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 15 from 12:30-2:30 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 29 from 12:30-2:30 p.m., Haines will introduce the essential components of aerial yoga, with a focus on building core strength, agility, and flexibility. Cost is $25 per session.
Yoga instructor Kimber Hyatt teaches “Basics of Vigorous Vinyasa” on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 2-5 p.m. Hyatt will help students to build a more vigorous and challenging vinyasa practice while focusing on some of the familiar poses and sequences of a vinyasa class, including Sun Salutations A and B, wheel pose and crow pose. The cost is $35.
Meditation instructor Jake White offers “Back to the Heart” on Sunday, Aug. 23 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. With a goal of developing a greater sense of peace, purpose, acceptance, and stability, this workshop will focus on meditation techniques as well as energetic healing techniques, group discussion and learning how to become more heart-centered in one’s life. Cost is $30, with early bird enrollment of $25 until Aug. 18.
