The August meeting of the Gardeners Exchange Group will be at Walnut Hill, home to Hill’s Farm Fresh Produce, LLC which does business as The Fruit and Veggie Wagon (on the corner of Rt. 340 and Old Country Club Road). The primary focus of the tour will be how the farm uses greenhouse and high tunnels to produce the flowers and vegetables they sell. We will discuss in particular, the advantages and disadvantages of high tunnel growing and techniques used to minimize disease and enhance overall production.

Hill’s Farm Fresh Produce, LLC was formed in 2015 and took over the operations at the Fruit and Veggie Wagon in 2013. During the first two years they operated as a non-profit organization, training military veterans and donating all profits to the Patriot’s Path Foundation, Inc.
