Shepherd University students serve community

By Staff | Aug 21, 2015

Shepherd University students could be seen all about the county on Tuesday, providing services for area non-profit agencies.

The 100 students who participated were part of the Shepherd University’s Emerging Leaders program, in which students come to campus a few days early to engage in service, team building and leadership opportunities.

Participants worked at 23 community venues, including the Shepherdstown Visitor’s Center, the War Memorial Building, Good Shepherd Caregivers, Shepherdstown Day Care, Christ Church and others.

Wednesday, students participated in adventure programs for team building, such as a ropes course, caving and rock climbing, and will later assist first-time students with move in at Shepherd.
