Historic Shepherdstown issues McMurran holiday ornament

By Staff | Oct 2, 2015

Historic Shepherdstown has created a holiday ornament representing McMurran Hall, the first in a series of planned ornaments celebrating Shepherdstown’s iconic buildings. Sales of the ornaments will raise funds for conservation of Shepherdstown Museum artifacts and for local historic preservation efforts.

The elegant brass ornaments are boxed with information on McMurran Hall and are on sale for $20.

Anyone wishing to purchase an ornament may stop by the Museum, which is open through the end of October on Saturdays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sundays, 1-4 p.m. One may also contact Historic Shepherdstown’s administrator, Teresa McLaughlin at 304-876-0910 or by e-mail at HSC1786@gmail.com. Ornaments will also be sold at the Shepherd University Bookstore and at Historic Shepherdstown’s Fall Fundraiser on Oct. 17 at the historic Entler Hotel.

Eleanor Finn, Historic Shepherdstown’s president, noted “This is the perfect holiday present. I am so pleased at how the ornaments turned out and how fast they are selling. If we need to, we will take orders and have them delivered before the holiday season arrives.”
