Storytelling event set
Susanna “Granny Sue” Holstein will present an evening of haunted Appalachian stories and ballads. Ghost stories, historical tales and unexplained phenomena attract Susanna “Granny Sue” Holstein like moths to a flame. She developed and presents an annual ghost walk for her county’s seat, and is always on the hunt for new stories of ghostly happenings in West Virginia. A professional storyteller for 20 years, she has published short stories and poetry in journals, anthologies and online, writes a monthly column for the regional magazine Two Lane Livin’ and has produced two CDs of stories and ballads. She travels extensively in West Virginia and to other locations across the US, telling stories, singing ballads and teaching storytelling and writing workshops.
Speak will take place on Tuesday Oct.13 at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Club War Memorial Building. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
