JHS theater group presents Twain by the Tale
The Jefferson High School Theatre Department is on a roll with their second production of the season: Twain By the Tale adapted by Dennis Snee.
Twain by the tale is a compilation of Mark Twain stories full of humor and wit. The play is full of short skits all containing various quantities of political satire. It has a variety of characters and settings from Twain’s short stories coming to life on the stage.
Mark Twain is known for his ability to incorporate his views of the nature of the world and life into his writing. He was born in Florida, Missouri as Samuel L. Clemens but used the alias Mark Twain. He used that name on many pieces of his literature, including very popular stories such as The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, which are incorporated into this production. Clemens’ spent his life doing a multitude activities including being a riverboat pilot, journalist, lecturer, entrepreneur, and inventor. His adventurous life is very similar to that of the lives of the characters in his story.
There will be three chances to see Twain by the Tale at Jefferson High School. Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2:30 p.m. To make reservations or other inquiries, email jeffersonhightheatre@gmail.com.
