WVU Extension Service to offer new and beginning farmer workshop in Jefferson and Morgan counties.

By Staff | Oct 16, 2015

Want to turn that green thumb into a business? Have land that could be making money or saving taxes? Have a great recipe to market? Always wanted to farm? There are the typical questions that start individuals down the path to starting a farm business. It takes more than a good idea or a dream to start a business. Register for the workshop and learn the basic information those new to agriculture and farming need to know. Think through a proposed plan and determine if plans are realistic. Ask the difficult questions like is this a business or a hobby. Spend a day figuring out the questions to ask and the questions that need answering before investing time and money.

The workshop is scheduled for Oct. 21 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Jefferson County Extension Office, 1948 Wiltshire Road, Kearneysville. Deadline to pre-register, which is required, is Oct. 19. Call 304-728-7413, Ext. 0. Cost for the workshop is $10.
