Bavarian Inn again named Four Diamond winner

AAA recently announced their top picks of hotels around the country. Of the nearly 28,000 properties evaluated, 1,705 hotels earned Four and Five Diamond awards.
The Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown was once again placed on the prestigious list of Four Diamond winners.
According to the AAA website, Four Diamond winners are defined as establishments that are upscale in all areas. Accommodations are progressively more refined and stylish. The physical attributes reflect an obvious enhanced level of quality throughout. The fundamental hallmarks at this level include an extensive array of amenities combined with a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.
In 2016, 103 new hotels found their way onto the Four Diamond list, including traveler favorites like the Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, Arizona, Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel in Los Angeles, Omni Riverfront Hotel in New Orleans, The Quin in New York City, Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, Sanctuary Cap Cana in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, and Garza Blanca Preserve Resort & Spa in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. A total of 1,587 properties earned Four Diamond distinction this year.
The Bavarian Inn, according to their own website, is a romantic country inn offering European elegance and world class service from its scenic location perched on a bluff overlooking the Potomac River.
The charming and historic inn is owned by the Asam family, who maintain the highest standard in hospitality, gourmet dining and guest comfort. The Inn boasts 72 rooms, many with gas fireplaces and whirlpool baths. The 11-acre property also offers an Infinity Pool and Bar, tennis court and multiple formal and casual dining options.
In addition to the AAA Four Diamond designation, the Bavarian has also received Wine Spectator’s “Best of” Award of Excellence.”
