Local man recognized as pioneer
Local physician, marathon runner and owner of Two Rivers Treads, Mark Cucuzzella, was recognized by Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine as one of the South’s most influential personalities. The full list of pioneers includes historical figures, conservation heroes, literary voices and iconic outdoor personalities, but with a primary focus on modern-day pioneers of adventure in the Blue Ridge.
Dr. Cucuzzella works at Jefferson Medical Center, is the chief medical consultant for the Air Force Marathon and the founder National Running Center and the annual Freedom’s Run event held in and around Shepherdstown each October.
