First Friday Coffeehouse features Clinton Collins

By Staff | May 6, 2016

The May 6 First Friday Coffeehouse will feature prominent West Virginia songwriter Clinton Collins. The event is held at Trinity Orchard House on Route 45. Doors open for social time and open mic sign-up at 7 p.m. All open mic participants should be there early to get a slot to perform at one of the area’s premier listening rooms. Up to eight performers can show off their talents during the hour preceding the feature act.

The award-winning Clinton returns to First Friday from Bluefield, West Virginia. He weaves a solo performance with original songs, stories and selected covers from a lifetime of experience. His music paints vivid images and allows the listener to become part of the story. He blends Appalachian roots with gospel and country to offer a unique blend of Americana music.

Collins performs extensively at house concerts, coffeehouses and various venues throughout the mid-Atlantic, both solo and with his band. He was winner of The Mountain Stage New Song Festival when it first came to Jefferson County several years ago. Collins is about to release his latest CD, Around the Sun.

Enjoy a great evening of music and fellowship. Snacks and refreshments served. Trinity Orchard House is located at 4599 Shepherdstown Road, Martinsburg. A $10 donation per person is requested. For more information, contact Steve Warner at 304-676-4422 or 304-876-2915.
