Shepherdstown Handmade Market opens Mother’s Day weekend
The search for that unique and thoughtful Mother’s Day gift might begin and end right in the same place. The Shepherdstown 1st Weekend Handmade Market is similar to a pop-up shop or boutique in which local and regional artists, artisans and crafters come together to sell their quality handmade creations such as fine art, jewelry, accessories, home decor and gifts. The Handmade Market will be open Saturday, May 7 from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, May 8 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the War Memorial Building, 102 E. German Street in downtown Shepherdstown. There is always free admission to this local favorite and family-friendly event.
The featured creative sellers for this weekend’s market are: Kem Gardens (recycled copper, glass and crystal windchimes, light-catchers and dried flower art), Becky and Linda (colorful fabric totes, handbags, wallets, cosmetic bags, wheelchair and walker organizers, purse organizers, tooth fairy pillows and boo boo bags), Red?xisse (beaded gemstone necklaces and earrings), Toni Kay Dye (hand-painted feathers and wildlife art), Michael Dye (hand-carved wizard wands, fantasy figurines), Legend Mountain (soft sculpture, applique and folk art), Happy Cat Stained Glass (brilliant stained glass panels, suncatchers, ornaments, hair accessories), Nature’s Inspirations (gemstone and beaded jewelry with a fair-trade focus) and Creative Art and Soul (electroformed and electro-etched copper jewelry).

The Handmade Market is sponsored by the Shepherdstown Community Club. Monies collected from sellers’ space fees are applied towards the maintenance and operation of the historic War Memorial Building and Morgan’s Grove Park.
