Exhibitors announced for ‘DogFest’
The organizers of Shepherdstown fourth annual “DogFest” weekend have announced that 30 exhibitors will be on hand for the May 14-15 event.
The exhibiting organizations will include breed-specific rescue groups and local all-breed shelters, pet care providers, vendors selling pet-related products and local businesses and organizations.
DogFest will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. It will include a wide variety of activities for dogs, their owners, dog lovers and the general public. The exhibitors and most of the activities will be located on King Street, downtown, in front of the Town Hall. All of the organized activities will be free and everyone will be welcome.

A Darrah Bull Bully Rescue. Pennsylvania-based rescue-foster-adoption group dedicated to saving pitbulls.
Airedale Terrier Rescue of the Virginias. All-volunteer organization dedicated to finding loving new homes for abandoned and surrendered Airedale Terriers in Virginia and West Virginia.
Animal Advocates of West Virginia. A grassroots group that seeks to identify issues affecting animals in the Eastern Panhandle and to create solutions through education and advocacy.
Animal Welfare Society of Jefferson County. Provides housing, care and adoptions for homeless animals in Jefferson and surrounding counties. Provides spay/neuter assistance.
Bichon Frise Club. Maintains a nationwide Rescue Effort that endeavors to rehabilitate and responsibly place relinquished or abandoned Bichons in good adoptive homes.
Bites. Natural, delicious home-made treats for dogs and cats.
Blue Ridge Veterinary Blood Bank. All canine volunteer blood bank located in Purcellville, Virginia. Learn how your dog can help other dogs by donating blood.
Charlie Stonewall, Certified Therapy Dog. Therapy and morale dog from the Virginia National Guard.
Chesapeake Area Alaskan Malamute Protection (CHAAMP). Organization that works to rescue Alaskan Malamutes and connect them with good, loving forever homes.
Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center. Rescue-foster-adoption center for American Cockers.
Colonial Newfoundland Club. Newfoundland Dog rescue and children’s carting.
Covenant Church. Offering free water and free photography mini-sessions with Barbara Keech Photography.
Federal Emergency Management Agency. Offering information about protecting dogs in disaster situations.
Friends Fur Life. Berkeley Springs-based animal rescue organization that focuses on animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
Greensburg Bed & Biscuit. Team of loving caregivers offer a full range of local pet care services for dogs and cats, including boarding, grooming and training.
Hope Fur Rescues. Offering dog products in support of Friends for Life.
Insurance Outfitters. Local firm offers a full range of insurance coverage.
Jefferson County Animal Control. Dedicated to protecting the animals and people of Jefferson County.
Mason-Dixon Kennel Club. Hagerstown-based American Kennel Club affiliate offers a wide variety of classes for dogs of all breeds and ages, including puppy training, obedience, rally, agility and flyball. (Saturday only)
Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League. Great Dane rescue-foster-adoption organization.
100 Proof Tattoo. Will offer temporary henna tattoos with dog themes.
Paws Crossed Dog Rescue. All-breed rescue-foster-adoption group serving the Eastern Panhandle.(Saturday only)
Pawsitively Kip & Harper. Gentle and human training. (Sunday only)
Promises Animal Rescue. Rescues German Shepherds and Labradors from high-kill shelters.
PurposeFULL Paws. A nonprofit corporation, based in Bunker Hill, that raises and trains service/assistance dogs for the disabled.
Reachout Rescue & Resources. Maryland all-breed rescue-foster-adoption organization.
Ruff Ranch Sanctuary. A Middletown, Virginia organization that brings veterans and “harder to place” dogs together in a program that provides housing and employment for veterans and safe haven for challenged and aging canines.
