Shepherd University recently hosted the Region 8 Regional Math Field Day. Region 8 is made up of 8 counties including Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Hardy, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan and Pendleton counties.

Collin Guedel won First Place for 6th grade. He is a student at Shepherdstown Middle School. He advanced to State Competition for the third year in a row. Winning the region this year marks his best performance to date. As a winner, Collin represented RESA 8 counties at the annual state Mathematics Field Day, held Friday and Saturday (April 29 and 30) at Fairmont State University in Fairmont.
