Nancy White, chairman of the Board of Directors, is pleased to announce that Anne Beckley of Berkeley Springs has been named Interim Chief Executive Officer of the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle, effective May 16, 2016.

Charlotte Norris who has been serving as the interim CEO for the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle since the retirement of former CEO, Pete Mulford will resume her role as Board Secretary and chair of the Community Investment Committee. Beckley will also provide the organization with an assessment of capacity and sustainability.

Beckley is a management consultant having worked for 25 years with domestic and international agencies focused on economic and community development, arts and tourism, adult and youth education and organizational development. She has experience as a non-profit executive, strategic planner, project manager, program designer and fundraiser imparting her philosophy of holistic principles in business. She served as the executive director for the Morgan Arts Council and interim chief executive officer for Women Entrepreneurs of Baltimore, Inc. Beckley also designed and implemented a five-year capacity building program targeting non-profits for the Small Business Administration to strengthen community-based organizations. She also serves as vice-president for the Berkeley Springs/Morgan County Chamber of Commerce.

Vicki Shean has also joined the United Way team as the interim director of Resource Development and Marketing. Shean, who served the organization in this capacity from 2006-2012, has stepped into this role to aide in the wrap up of this year’s annual fundraising campaign and to assist with the preparations of the 2016-17 campaign. Shean most recently served as development manager at the Eastern Panhandle CARE Clinic in Ranson.

The United Way Personnel Committee and their chair, Michelle Thomas, have been tasked to spearhead the search for a permanent CEO for the organization. The search for this position has recently been re-opened. Interested candidates may contact Thomas at ceosearchuwep@gmail.com.
