Free concert Saturday, July 9
On Saturday, July 9, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park invites the public to attend ‘An Evening with the Charles Washington Symphony Orchestra.’
Founded in 2012, the Charles Washington Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Camilo Perez-Mejia, is committed to providing high quality musical experiences to Charles Town and surrounding areas as well as educational and performance opportunities for youth. In observance of the National Park Service Centennial, the group will present America’s Most Beautiful, a concert of great works by American composers such as George Gershwin and Aaron Copland.
This free concert will begin at 6 p.m. on the grounds of Mather Training Center, at the former Storer College campus in Harpers Ferry. In case of inclement weather, the concert will take place in the Curtis-Freewill Baptist Church. For more information, please contact 304-535-6298.
