Used tire collection

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has announced that a used tire collection event in Jefferson County has been scheduled for Saturday, July 30, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. Location will be the Jefferson County Department of Highways facility, 1301 Old Leetown Pike, near Leetown.

The event, part of the state’s litter control program, is open to any West Virginia resident with a valid driver’s license. Participants may dispose of up to 10 tires, free of charge, per valid license. The tires do NOT need to be removed from the rims. Waste haulers, non-West Virginia residents and businesses are not allowed to participate. Each tire will be inspected prior to acceptance and if not considered acceptable will be rejected.
