A ‘Walk and Talk’ with the Peace Corps
On Thursday, Aug. 18 at the U.S. Park Service Mather Training Center in Harpers Ferry, those interested in the Peace Corps and Returned Peace Corps Volunteers in the area are invited to immerse themselves in culture and adventure as Peace Corps Recruiters Nicholas Dippel and Jamie Salabogi walk through their experiences abroad and discuss the application process.
Immediately following the 5:30 p.m. presentation, guides from the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park and the Appalachian National Scenic Trail will lead an informational hike through the historic Lower Town ending at a local eating establishment, the Potomac Grille. Dine with returned volunteers, hear stories and get questions answered in a relaxed setting.
The hiking tour will depart from the Mather Training Center at 6:15 p.m. Wear suitable clothing including good walking shoes and bring water. This is a strenuous and steep downhill hike about one mile long.
For those interested, transportation will be provided back to the Mather Center.
Dinner will begin at 7:30 p.m. Food and drink will not be provided.
