Artifact sneak peak at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park
In conjunction with the National Park Service Centennial, Harpers Ferry National Historical Park invites the public to take a behind the scenes sneak peek of some of the artifacts in the archeology collection on Monday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m.
This 60-minute program will highlight a number of the Park’s archeological objects including prehistoric projectile points, Armory firearm components, Civil War militaria and the domestic objects of everyday life. Participants will learn the unique story behind each artifact and how each one helps archeologists understand and interpret the past in Harpers Ferry.
Visitors should pay the National Park Service entrance fee at the Park Entrance Station and ride the shuttle bus to Lower Town.
The presentation will be held in the Allies for Freedom Room on the second floor of the John Brown Museum.
