Gardener’s group to meet Aug. 20

By Staff | Aug 19, 2016

Gardeners Exchange Group (GEG) is an informal network of avid gardeners from Jefferson and Berkeley counties and beyond. Its purpose is to bring together people who share an interest in the practical, hands-on challenges and pleasures of gardening. The gardening interests of GEG members are just as diverse: wildflowers to roses, fruit trees to mushrooms. Children are welcome.

GEG members share information, resources, expertise, labor, plants and experiences through monthly meetings, garden visits and special events. They meet on the third Saturday of the month, April through October.

The group’s next meeting is about Monarch butterflies and the plants that attract them. Sue Brown will provide information about these delicate creatures as well as a plant list. Monarch garden. It will be held Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon at 298 Weeping Willow Road, Falling Waters.

For more information, visit www.g-e-g.org, or call Jane Blash at 240-529-5384. Please bring a chair, a breakfast food to share and plants or gardening materials to share.
