Health Fair offered at Asubry UMC
Asbury United Methodist Church will host a free Community Health Fair on Saturday, Aug. 27, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church’s main campus. Located at 4257 Kearneysville Pike, the Fair will be in held in the gymnasium of the Family Life Building. Medical doctors, nurses and other health professionals from Berkeley Medical Center, Shenandoah Health Center, Shepherd University Nursing Department, Boonsboro Wellness Center, the VA Medical Center and other community vendors will participate in the Fair.
This Health Fair is a community service intended to encourage good health and wellness. In addition to health screenings-Type-2 Diabetes screening, BP, BMI, Acupuncture and giveaways-health professionals will make presentations throughout the day. The schedule is as follows:
10 a.m. Hedwig Abbey – Dementia (from a Care Giver’s perspective)
10:30 a.m. Griselle Anderson – Affordable Care Act (ACA), Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
11 a.m. Dr. Anthony Owunna – Men’s Health
11:30 a.m. Lisa Bloomfield – Techniques For Exercise/Stretching In Your Desk Chair
12 p.m. Dr. Dawn Jones – Heart Disease, Stroke and Medication Management
12:30 p.m. Dr. Ngozi Owunna – Musculoskeletal System
1 p.m. Andretta Brown – Geriatric Massage
1:30 p.m. Jodi Cooper – Diabetes
