Jefferson Arts Council (JAC) is excited to announce a group exhibit by members of the Jefferson County Photography Club in Charles Town’s Fire Hall Gallery, Sept. 1-27.

There will be a catered reception on Friday, Sept. 16, 6-8 p.m., and all are invited to see the exhibit and meet many of the photographers.

“This show is about sharing who each individual is as a photographer and artist, within the context of the Jefferson County Photography Club. Some of us photograph action, some of us photograph nature and some of us photograph people, but we all come together every month to help each other grow and evolve as artists. We range from beginners to professionals, so this exhibit is a great opportunity for us to highlight our individual interests and voices as photographers,” said Melanie Brownsmith, co-president of the club.

Work will be shown by many members, including Ellen Hardesty, Kelly Riner, Alice Newton, Rip Smith and Melanie Brownsmith. The group meets monthly, often heading out to photograph together after sharing their work. New members are always welcome.

The Fire Hall Gallery is located in downtown Charles Town, inside the Visitor’s Center at 108 N. George Street. The Gallery is shared with the Washington Street Artists’ Cooperative and open seven days a week, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
