Apollo goes back to the 80s with ‘Rock of Ages’

By Staff | Sep 9, 2016

The Apollo Civic Theatre, 128 E. Martin Street, opens its 2016-17 season with the musical “Rock of Ages,” Sept. 23-Oct. 2. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 on Sundays.

Set in 1987 in Hollywood, this rock musical is all about big chords, big dreams and big hair! But the rock-and-roll fairytale is about to end when developers sweep into town and threaten to destroy the Sunset Strip. Only the great music of 80’s “hair bands” can save the day! The musical features 80’s rock music from bands like Poison, Styx, Whitesnake, Journey, Foreigner and many more.

This production contains adult themes, language and dialogue that may be unsuitable for children under 17.
