Cafe Society to the discuss the CATF season
The Cafe Society’s next session on Sept. 13 will focus on the recently concluded Contemporary American Theater Festival held at Shepherd University. Associate Producing Director (and Lifelong Learning Instructor) Peggy McKowen is scheduled to discuss the 26th season which consisted of performances of five different plays and many spinoff activities.
The festival has nearly 15,000 attendees and is widely known as a must-see showcase for new theater.
Topics will include: Specific questions about the plays this season; The artistic and financial success of this year’s festival; Lesson’s learned this season; The complexities of running a festival and simultaneously performing artistically; Future plans for the Not Medea production; Plans for next season.
This informal weekly Cafe Society discussion, part of the Shepherd University Life Long Learning Program, will be held from 8:40 to 10 a.m. Tuesday morning in the Rumsey Room of the Shepherd University Student Center.
