Shepherd Lifelong Learning program offers Argentinian tour
The Shepherd University Lifelong Learning Program is offering a warm, sunny February vacation in Argentina’s wine country Feb. 7-17, 2017. “Malbec and More: A Wine and Food Journey” will take participants to Mendoza, Argentina. Karen Rice, Lifelong Learning Program director, has announced an Oct. 25 deadline for those interested in participating to sign up.
The trip will include winery visits and tastings, a tour of Mendoza City and Central Market, a cooking class, gourmet meals, and excursions to the Andes Mountains and the base of Aconcagua, the highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere. The tour will be led by Shepherdstown’s Ellen Hoffman, former operator of the company Amazing Mendoza Tours, with support from Study Abroad Mendoza.
Cost for the tour is $4,150 per person, with a $600 supplement for single travelers. The price includes airfare, lodging at a five-star hotel, breakfast, several lunches and dinners, the cooking class, wine-tastings and several tours. Travelers are also required to purchase Shepherd University-provided travel insurance.
