Wee Naturalist program for preschoolers being offered at Cool Spring Preserve
The Potomac Valley Audubon Society is offering its January “Wee Naturalist” program for preschoolers, ages 3-5 and a caring adult, at Cool Spring Preserve on Monday, January 30, 2017. Time for the event is 9:30-11 a.m.
The January program will use the book “The Mitten” by Jan Brett to help youngsters learn how animals survive in colder weather. Activities will include a nature walk and another activity in addition to the interactive story. The Wee Naturalist program is designed to help introduce young children to the outdoors and features age-appropriate activities. The first half hour of the program is designed for un-programmed activities to help exploring with your child together. The structured program follows from 10-11 a.m.
Fee for the program is $5 per child/adult team. There is no charge for siblings under age two. Pre-registration is required and a minimum of 8 registrations are needed to conduct the program. Easy registration is available on the PVAS website www.potomacaudubon.org/event-2314050
Wee Naturalist programs are held rain or shine, so participants should wear sturdy footwear and dress for the prevailing weather. Hot chocolate will be available after the nature walk.
The Cool Spring Preserve is located at 1469 Lloyd Road in Jefferson County, about six miles southwest of Charles Town.
