Tonight’s First Friday Coffeehouse at the Trinity Orchard House features three Writers-in-the-Round
First Friday Coffeehouse will feature the diversity of three songwriting talents from the ever-growing Frederick, Maryland acoustic music scene.
The event is held Jan. 6 at Trinity Orchard House on Route 45 between Shepherdstown and Martinsburg. Doors open for social time and open mic sign-up at 7 p.m.
All open mic participants should be there early to get a slot to perform at one of the area’s premier listening rooms. The open mic hour starts at 7:30 and is followed by the feature acts.
Brian Derek is a multi-instrumentalist and one of the most popular performers in the Frederick area.
As a songsmith, he can quickly transition from humorous to heartfelt.
Katy Hylton is a choir director by day, songwriter by night. Her music features introspective, intelligent lyrics surrounded by a cascade of orchestral piano.
Finally, Todd C. Walker offers up excellent story songs blanketed in silky smooth vocals and guitar. He is a prime promoter of acoustic musicians and shows in Frederick and the surrounding area.
The three writers will share the stage and take turns performing their songs in round robin fashion.
Enjoy a great evening of music and fellowship. Snacks and refreshments served.
Trinity Orchard House is located at 4599 Shepherdstown Road, Martinsburg. A $10 donation per person is requested.
