Fellowship Bible Church in Shenandoah Junction continued a tradition last Friday when they hosted their 8th annual’Wild Beast Feast.’ The event, held in the past at the Ranson Civic Center, was moved to the Jefferson County Community Center at Sam Michael’s Park. More than 750 turned out for dinner and to hear the gospel message presented by former major league baseball star Sid Bream. Music was provided again this year by GoldHeart, a band from Winchester, Virginia.

The event offered a dinner featuring dishes prepared by member so the church as well as wild game dishes. Each person attending the event received an entry ticket for the door prize drawings. Names were drawn for adult and youth prizes. Prizes given away during the evening, for the most part, revolved around hunting and the outdoors. Grand prizes included hunting rifles and two bows.

While prizes were given, the main focus of the event was about sharing the gospel message, said Pastor Van Marsceau. The event has continued to grow each year and provides a successful venue for the church to reach out to the community.

This event is a celebration of the outdoors presented by FBC church members who are passionate about hunting, fishing and shooting and enjoy the opportunity to gather together and celebrate these American pastimes.
