CATF previews 2017 season
The Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF) will host a Shepherdstown Sneak Peek on Friday, March 24 at 8 p.m. at the Frank Center of Shepherd University.
The season preview will consist of readings from all six of CATF’s 2017 plays. Founder and Producing Director Ed Herendeen will introduce and discuss the upcoming season. This event is free and open to the public.
Joining Herendeen will be Allison Gregory, playwright of CATF’s 2016 Not Medea and the upcoming production of Wild Horses. Andrew White of the Maryland Theatre Guide called Gregory’s Not Medea “a finely crafted piecenot to be missed.”
Readings will be performed by guest actors, including John Lescault, Naomi Jacobson, and Vincent Ramirez.
The Contemporary American Theater Festival will take place July 7-30, with matinee and evening performances Tuesday through Sunday. Festival tickets go on sale Monday, March 27. To order tickets, call at 800-999-CATF (2283).

The Contemporary American Theater Festival was founded by Ed Herendeen in 1991 to produce and develop new American theater. The Festival produces new plays in rotating repertory on the campus of Shepherd University. To date, CATF has produced over 115 new plays including forty-three world premieres and ten commissions.
