Season continues with hit Off-Broadway musical
The Black Box Arts Center is thrilled to present an area premier of the hit musical, The Last Five Years.
Through the Drama Desk award-winner The Last Five Years, viewers have a personal view into the lives of Cathy and Jamie, a young couple with a failing marriage. Cathy is a struggling actress and Jamie is a budding novelist on the brink of success. They meet, fall in love, marry and divorce over the span of five years. Cathy tells their story from the end of their marriage; Jamie begins from when they first meet. One of Jason Robert Brown’s best-known works, this production has enraptured audiences around the world with its spellbinding and emotional score and libretto.
Durected by Danielle Guy with musical direction by Rene Zabel, this play features Abbie Robinson and Christopher Beatley.
Performances are Fridays, May 5 and 12 at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, May 6 and 13 at 8 p.m. and Sundays May 7 and 14 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket costs are $12 and $15 with student admission set at $8.
The Black Box Arts Center is located at 113 S. Princess Street, Shepherdstown.

Unpaid reservations are held at the box office until 15 minutes before curtain. All seats are general admission.
