Two Rivers Treads moves to Ranson
After 8 years in Shepherdstown, the popular Two Rivers Treads store leaves a vacancy on German Street, and in the hearts of town residents.
Two Rivers, named one of the 50 best running stores in America, has played an integral role in community involvement in Shepherdstown, being the headquarters for Freedom’s Run, youth running camps, the hub for education about proper footware and running techniques, and home to health and nutritional expert, Dr. Mark Cucuzzella.
The move was not taken lightly, but a bigger space was deemed necessary to join forces with a large running and fitness group in Charles Town/Ranson, Bros and Bras to create a running headquarters in Ranson.
The Running HQ will include The TrueForm Training Center, where people can relearn their natural running form on the innovative TrueForm runner. Staff will evaluate gait for injury-free running and efficiency.
It will also house the Freedoms Run Headquarters, where runners can engage with staff, community mentors and coaches on how to prepare for any distance from a 5k to an ultra marathon.
An exciting element is that it will be a minimalist test site. As the nation’s leader in minimalist footwear, Two Rivers Treads customers will have the opportunity to try out the latest in gear and footwear, often before it launches anywhere else in the world.
The Running HQ will also be a hub for meet-ups, where various groups can convene for weekly walks and runs and serve as a meeting place for all members of the running community, including youth, adult runners of all ages and abilities and teams, and will advertise local race information and be the location for race packet pickup. Lockers will be available for day use for those looking to store their belongings while out running.
Dr. Mark Cucuzzella said, “The new location allows us an opportunity to grow a community of health. A real community of health are like-minded people helping each other and increasing the scale and reach. We are tripling our space at the new location, allowing room to do group training, and partnering with our large community running group which are bringing in new members every week Bros and bras. We also want to share the love of walking and the new location and enhanced walk ability of Ranson is a perfect fit for this.”
