Model UN wins awards at regional conference

Shepherd University’s Model United Nations team won three awards at the Southern Regional Model United Nations Conference March 30-April 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The team represented Bangladesh, Bulgaria, and New Zealand at the event.

Rebecca Kamp, Martinsburg; Desiree Rose, Hedgesville; Daniela Powers, Inwood; Rebecca Jerome, Marlington; and Karen Paiz, Silver Spring, Maryland, won Honorable Delegation representing Bangladesh.

Dillon Enright, Columbia, Maryland, was recognized for excellence, and Rose won an individual award for her work as a delegate. Gabriella Hess, Martinsburg, who argued an international law case before the judges of the International Court of Justice on behalf of Somalia, won her case in a unanimous decision.
