The Monarch Alliance will be holding two events in Washington County, Maryland, during May.

First, the organization will hold its annual milkweed sale, fundraiser and monarch educational program at Hagerstown’s Kiwanis Park on Saturday, May 20.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Information on how to create monarch waystations and butterfly gardens will be available, and experts will be on hand to answer questions. There will also be children’s activities.

The City of Hagerstown is sponsoring the milkweed sale portion of this event, and it is offering two varieties of milkweed. All purchases must be made through the City’s website at http://bit.ly/2qsaCxg and they can be picked up at the Park on the day of the event.

The park is located at 371 Dynasty Drive, Hagerstown.

On Saturday, May 27, The Monarch Alliance will hold its annual perennial plant sale at the Sunny Meadows Garden Center, located at 7437 Sharpsburg Pike, Boonsboro.

This sale will also be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
