An art exhibit at Town Run Brewing Compnay is bringing nature to life with eccentric sculptures, paintings, photographs and mixed media.

What began as support for water protectors at Standing Rock has turned into a five-part series titled “Alchemy: Earth,” which will be displayed now through June 23 at the brewery.

The artists featured include: Hillary Banachowski. Joan Bontempo, Joy Bridy, Melanie Brownsmith, Mason Ellsworth, Liz Goins, Victoria Hopkins, Mary Elizabeth Mattlage, Harley Hinkle Riggleman, Alan Riggleman, Anne Rule-Thompso, Bradley Sanders, Rose Mendez, Annie Wisecarver and Morgan Wisneiwski.

“We are attempting to raise public consciousness of the amazing materials and processes of Mother Nature. ‘Alchemy’ is an entry point to studying the deep and complex life of the organism we are a part of – water, earth, fire, air and spirit,” Sanders said. “We started with water as a way to connect and support water protectors from Standing Rock and across the planet, and found the process brought our shared connection to nature to the forefront.”

Sculptures ranging from hands clutching the earth to the earth tied tight and divided adorn the exhibit.

A clay sculpture by Joy Bridy titled “Earth,” is shown.

Paintings range from dark trees to a colorful and frenzied fish, begging not to be killed.

The exhibit is vast and varied, but share the love of nature and the desire to save and protect the earth and the environment.
