Michael Whitmore Jr. and Krystal Wilhelm, of Ranson, announce the birth of their girl, Layla Star Whitmore, at 7:44 a.m. on Aug. 1, 2017, in Jefferson Medical Center.

She weighed 4 pounds, 11.3 ounces and was 17 inches long.

Maternal grandparents are Tina Burkhart and Marshall Fitzwater, of Ranson.

Maternal great-grandparents are Diane and Topper Burkhart.

Paternal grandparents are Janet and Mike Whitmore, of Ranson.

Waiting at home is sister Hannah.
