Mary Ann Soumphont and Garabed Kyle Derr, both of Shepherdstown, announce their engagement.

Mary Ann is the daughter of Phou Phoubandith, of Frederick, Maryland, and Ken Soumphont, of San Jose, California. She is a graduate of The Art Institute of Washington and is a self-employed graphic designer.

Derr is the son of Kimberley Anne Derr, of Shepherdstown, and Garabed Michael Derr, of Summit Point. He is a graduate of Shepherd University and is a project foreman with Sustainable Solutions in Shepherdstown.

The couple met while participating in the Segal Century Ride, in Salisbury, Maryland.

A wedding date has yet to be announced.
