Wedding announcement

Bethany Pennock, of Shepherdstown, and Kyle Lucas, of Boone, Iowa, were united in marriage on Saturday at Grace Baptist Church. The wedding was officiated by Joe Burwell.
Andrew McKnight sang his song, “Alchemy,” while the unity candle was lit, and Andie Mattes played Pachelbel’s Canon in D for the processional.
The maid of honor was Lizzie Albert, of Cleveland, Ohio. Albert and the bride met at their college orientation and have been best friends since. The groomsmen were the bride’s brothers, Matthew and Philip, who stood in for the best man, who could not attend.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the service was limited to immediate family only. A full service with the renewal of vows is being planned for next year at Wild Goose Farm.
The bride graduated with her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and her graduate degree from Florida State University. The groom graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and with his graduate degree from Auburn University. The bride and groom met at Auburn University, where the bride was a sports nutrition intern and the groom was a graduate student studying athletic training.
The couple resides in Austin, Texas. The bride is a sports nutritionist for the University of Texas Athletics Department. The groom is an athletic trainer at Ascension Seton Medical Center, working with a number of youth recreational leagues and for the professional rugby team in Austin, Austin Gilgronis.
