This weekend marks Shepherd University’s Homecoming weekend.

Today the Founder’s Day Celebration procession will begin at 2:30 p.m. on the West Campus below the Butcher Center and conclude on the McMurran Hall front lawn.

The Student Banner Competition will begin at the start of the procession with final judging in Reynolds Hall. From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., Lambda Chi Alpha and Program Board will sponsor the Homecoming Dance in the Student Center Storer Ballroom.

Saturday the Alumni Association and SU Foundation will host the Alumni Breakfast at 9 a.m. on the McMurran Hall front lawn.

At 10 a.m. the Homecoming Parade will begin, followed at 11 a.m. with pre-game festivities until 2 p.m. on the Midway.

At noon the Shepherd Rams play West Virginia Wesleyan College, with the announcement of 2010 Homecoming court, and king and queen at halftime.

Following the game, all Shepherd alumni and friends are invited to walk over to the Bavarian Inn for a post-game party. The party is $10 for admission. From 6 to 8 p.m. the 1955 Undefeated Football Team Reunion will be held in the Entler Hotel.

Events began Wednesday with a Rambler Card Tailgate Party on the East Campus Midway and the 10th Annual Academic Quiz Bowl and continued through Thursday when the Program Board hosted “Make Your Own Homecoming Spirit Shirt” on the Midway, and the Annual Skit Competition was held in the Student Center Storer Ballroom.
