Yoga class for military families set
Area families of active military personnel deployed overseas now can participate free of charge in any open yoga class at the Harmony Healing Arts Center.
The idea, proposed by Beth Brent, a yoga student who provided start-up money for the fund, was sparked by a local mother of three children whose husband will be absent for a third year-long deployment overseas.
Harmony co-owners JiJi Beckett Russell and Judy Jenner feel the idea reflects one of the center’s missions of “reaching out” to the community and is the spirit of “karma yoga” – giving wherever it is needed. Harmony will match the student’s generous contribution and all other funds collected.
