Planning for this year’s Shepherdstown Fourth of July parade and community picnic is under way, and all interested groups and organizations are encouraged to sign up now to march in the parade.

Musicians also are being sought to perform at the picnic.

As in past years, the parade will step off at 3 p.m. at the top of German Street and proceed to the Rumsey Memorial Park on Mill Street.

The picnic will be held right afterwards at the Park, and last until dusk.

The parade and picnic are sponsored by the Shepherdstown Rotary Club.
