Town police offer prescription take back

By Staff | May 10, 2013

Last Saturday, April 27, was National Prescription Take Back Day. It is a nationwide event where people can drop off unwanted and unused prescription medication. The Chief of Police in Shepherdstown wants to make this option available to the community on a regular basis. Therefore, prescription medication may be dropped off at the Shepherdstown Police Department lobby from Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. This program aims to assist in getting some of the prescription medication off the street and out of the hands of potential abusers.

Please contact Chief David Ransom with any questions. If this program saves one person from becoming a victim of prescription medicine abuse, then it is worth it. Residents may contact the office at 304-876-6036 or email dransom@shepherdstown.us.
