Police seek information on suspicious individual
On Tuesday, June 4, the Shepherdstown Police Department received a call regarding a suspicious person and suspicious activity on Route 45 (Martinsburg Pike) outside of Shepherdstown. The incident occurred on Monday, June 3, at about 9:30 a.m.
The complainant stated that she was walking from Shepherdstown along Route 45 when a male in an older white car passed her and pulled into the lot at the Shepherdstown Volunteer Fire Department. As the complainant walked past the SVFD, the male in the car called out to her to come to his car, which was parked near the roadway. The complainant ignored the request and kept walking. The male then held up a Pomeranian dog and asked the female to come over to his car. The complainant kept walking and noticed the white car drive by her heading west on Route 45. As she neared the Dollar General store, the white car was parked in the lot near the roadway. The male was out of the car with the dog and again asked her to come over to his car. The complainant then left the area.
The male is described as a white male, possibly 45 to 50, and tattoos on his arms, and brownish red hair. She stated that the car was an old white car, possibly a four door. If anyone has information about this male or this white car, please contact the Shepherdstown Police Department at 304-876-6036 or email at tips@shepherdstown.us. It is recommended that people who come in contact with any suspicious activity or suspicious people contact law enforcement as soon as possible.
