Police make arrests

By Staff | Mar 14, 2014

On Sunday, 9 March 2014 at about 1859 hours (6:59 PM), Officer Harper of the Shepherdstown Police Department received a complaint about a possible breaking and entering at 347 West German Street in Shepherdstown. The caller advised that a window on the side of the residence was broken and smoke was coming from the chimney. No one was supposed to be residing at the residence at that time. Officers from the Shepherd University Police Department and the West Virginia State Police also responded to that location. Officer Harper obtained a key for the residence but the door was bolted from the inside. As officers were attempting to gain entry into the residence through the broken window, Sergeant Kelvington from the SUPD began shouting commands from the front of the house. As the officers got to Sgt. Kelvington, he had a male and female detained at gunpoint. Sgt. Kelvington advised they had climbed out one of the front windows. David Alan Donaldson (33 YOA) and Michelle Alice Donaldson (33 YOA) were arrested for Breaking and Entering, Destruction of Property, Petit Larceny, and Trespassing. Additional investigation showed that the electric and water were supposed to be off to that residence. Both are being held at the Eastern Regional Jail on $25,000 bond each. This is an ongoing investigation.
