By Staff | Apr 4, 2014

Jala Yoga, the yoga studio at Mellow Moods Cafe and Juice Bar, 117 West German Street, is offering several opportunities to jump into spring with yoga practices designed to align one’s body with the season. These workshops, which are appropriate for all experience levels, emphasize healthy eating guidelines, detoxifying physical yoga practices, and tips for transitioning with ease into spring.

On Sunday, Apr. 27, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Stacy Mallow will lead “Spring into Ayurveda: Natural Health for the Spring Season.” This workshop will offer ways to lighten winter stagnation and weight gain, reduce spring allergies and create healthy habits for spring and summer through the ancient Indian healing system of Ayurveda. The workshop will introduce Ayurvedic fundamentals and include a yoga practice designed for the season. Stacy is a certified yoga teacher who is currently studying at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. The cost of the workshop is $25 ($20 if registered by Apr. 21).

From Apr. 26 through May 2, Mia Hamza will lead a Spring Renewal Detox. This 5-day event will detoxify the body, mind and spirit through daily yoga, breathwork and meditation, plus each participant receives a recipe book and daily juice from Mellow Moods Caf and Juice Bar. The event, open to all levels of practitioners, kicks off on Saturday, Apr. 26 from 5:30 – 7 p.m. and participants convene every morning from Monday, Apr. 28 through Friday, May 2 from 7:15-8:30 a.m. The cost of the detox is $125.
