Admiral Analogs Audio Assortment comes to town

By Staff | May 9, 2014

A grand opening of a new record store off West German Street, Admiral Analogs Audio Assortment, took place Saturday, May 3..

The store is owned and operated by Hagerstown native Andrew Barton. Barton will sell a variety of entertainment from records, cds, cassettes, vhs, blue ray, video games, stereo equipment, turntables, shirts and posters.

“Opening this record store has been a lifelong dream of mine for about 20 years,” Barton said. “I did a lot of day dreaming, planning, procrastinating, and making excuses and now the timing has added up to the right time in my life.” Barton continued.

When asked why he chose Shepherdstown instead of opening his business in Hagerstown, Barton responded, “I feel that I will have the support and the understanding more here in Shepherdstown and it was an obvious idea. I am surprised nobody has done it already.”

Barton obtained his records for the store by buying bulks of collections 3,000 plus and new sealed records from distributors with over 100 titles. He is looking to bring everyone into his store and give them a chance to buy music they love as well as explore other kinds of genres.

This is Barton’s first location and only took him two months to prepare for opening.

Admiral Analogs Audio Assortment is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11a.m to 7 p.m. Sundays will have special hours or by appointments.

For the whole month of May shoppers will receive 15 percent off used items in the store. The store can be contacted via facebook, e-mail at admiralanalog@gmail.com or by calling 304-491-6050.
