Speak event on tap
On Tuesday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. Speak will present Dovie Thomason, storyteller of Lakota and Kiowa Apache heritage. Using the indigenous voice, she shares traditional and original stories around the world, including NASA, the Oral History Association, Kennedy Center, Smithsonian, Shakespeares Globe Theatre, and lending her voice to the BBC, NPR, PBS, RTE, and the National Park Service. She is acknowledged as a master traditional artist by the National Endowment for the Arts, Smithsonian Associates, and New England Foundation for the Arts. Speak: Shepherdstown Story Series takes place in the Community Club War Memorial Building at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, which are $10 in advance and $12 at the door, are available by phoning 304 -886- 9481 or by visiting Four Seasons Books. Students are admitted for $8 with ID.
