Shepherdstown native returns to church of his childhood to preach

By Staff | Oct 17, 2014

Historic Christ Reformed Church, Shepherdstown, a congregation of the United Church of Christ of German Reformed heritage, will celebrate Homecoming Sunday, on Oct. 19, at 11 p.m.

Held each fall, the Homecoming Service is an occasion when friends and former members of the parish are encouraged to return to share in worship, fellowship, and a covered dish luncheon. This year Jeff Muck, a retired public school teacher from Wheeling, West Virginia, will be returning to Christ Church where he attended Sunday School as a child, to serve as guest preacher. Mr. Muck still has relatives among the Christ Church membership and a great many friends in Shepherdstown where he attended elementary school, high school and college. He is now an active member of the United Methodist Church where he took course work as a lay preacher. Christ Reformed Church is located at 304 East German Street in Shepherdstown. The public is invited to both the worship service and covered dish luncheon.
