Several groups of students were recognized at Monday evening’s Board of Education meeting in Charles Town. At right, Shepherdstown Middle Schooler student Tyler Donley led the Pledge of Allegiance to start the meeting. Donley was later presented with a certificate for his participation and success as a National Geographic Geography Bee participant.

At left, Ellie Didden, a Jefferson High senior and Stephen Groh, a senior at Washington High School, were praised for being named National Merit Finalists. The announcement of scholarship winners will be made May 11.
