Thelma I. McDonald
Thelma I. McDonald, 93, of Ranson, died on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Shenandoah Center in Charles Town. She was the widow of Harvey B. McDonald, who died May 20, 2009.
Born Oct. 20, 1919, in Shepherdstown, she was a daughter of the late Henry C. Lamp and Launa (DeHaven) Lamp.
Mrs. McDonald was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker.
She was a member of Bolivar United Methodist Church in Bolivar.
She was a graduate of Shepherdstown High School.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet L. Drish and husband, Donald, of Ranson; her son, Harvey C. McDonald and wife, Annette, of Bunker Hill; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother, Luther Lamp and wife, Mary, of Shepherdstown and Sister-in-Law, Mary Lamp, Shepherdstown.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Louise Fritts, Girline Rainey, Betty Sours, Jean Lamp; and two brothers, Leroy Lamp and Harold Lamp.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013, at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town, with Pastor James Holt officiating. Interment will be at Green Hill Cemetery in Berryville, Va.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
